I actually have never liked corned beef. And guinness is a little stronger than I enjoy. So I was very pleased when my sister-in-law shared this trick with me. Buy a large corned beef brisket. Throw away seasoning packet. Rinse brisket and pat all over with brown sugar- about 1 cup. Maybe a little more. Place in crock pot and pour 1 can of guinness over meat. Slow cook all day.
